🌿 Health Benefits

Cranberries are one of the most antioxidant-rich fruits available, packed with vitamin C, vitamin E, and proanthocyanidins that support urinary tract health and immune function. They have anti-inflammatory properties and may help reduce the risk of certain infections. Homemade cranberry sauce has far less sugar and no artificial additives compared to canned versions.

📚 History

Cranberries are native to North America and were used by Indigenous peoples for food, medicine, and dye long before European settlers arrived. Native Americans introduced cranberries to the Pilgrims, and they became associated with Thanksgiving celebrations. Commercial cranberry cultivation began in Massachusetts in the early 1800s. Canned cranberry sauce was introduced in the 1940s and became a Thanksgiving staple. Today cranberry sauce remains one of the most iconic American holiday dishes.
